Understanding the Six Areas of the Human Body

Medical Thai massage

From my new book ''The Future of Deep Tissue Massage: Explore JANMI Method's Innovative Approach'', Chapter 7:

In this chapter, we will take a comprehensive look at each of the six areas targeted by the JANMI Method: Foot-Ankle, Knee, Lumbopelvic, Shoulder Girdle, Cervical, and Elbow. Gain a deeper understanding of the specific challenges and potential imbalances that can arise in these areas, and explore how the JANMI Method addresses them to promote optimal wellness and functionality.

7.1 Foot-Ankle Area

The Foot-Ankle area is a vital foundation for the body's stability and mobility. Common challenges in this area include plantar fasciitis, ankle sprains, and general foot imbalances. The JANMI Method approaches these challenges by employing techniques such as myofascial release, joint mobilization, and specific exercises to restore proper alignment, improve range of motion, and alleviate pain and discomfort.

7.2 Knee Area

The Knee area is susceptible to various conditions, including ligament strains, patellar tracking issues, and meniscus injuries. With the JANMI Method, therapists focus on rebalancing the muscles around the knee joint, addressing any muscular imbalances, and enhancing stability and function through specific strengthening exercises and manual therapy techniques.

7.3 Lumbopelvic Area

The Lumbopelvic area plays a crucial role in supporting the spine and facilitating proper posture and movement. Imbalances in this area can contribute to conditions such as low back pain, sciatica, and sacroiliac joint dysfunction. Through the JANMI Method, therapists utilize a combination of deep tissue massage, targeted stretching, and core stabilization exercises to address these imbalances and promote optimal function and alignment.

7.4 Shoulder Girdle Area

The Shoulder Girdle area is prone to issues like rotator cuff injuries, frozen shoulder, and postural imbalances. JANMI Method therapists employ specific techniques to release tension, restore mobility, and improve strength and stability in the muscles surrounding the shoulder joint. These techniques may include soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization, and therapeutic exercises tailored to the individual's needs.

7.5 Cervical Area

The Cervical area, or the neck region, often experiences challenges such as cervical spondylosis, neck muscle strains, and tension headaches. The JANMI Method addresses these issues by utilizing gentle cervical mobilizations, soft tissue release, and targeted exercises to alleviate pain, improve range of motion, and restore proper alignment of the cervical spine.

7.6 Elbow Area

The Elbow area is susceptible to conditions like tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, and tendinitis. Through the JANMI Method, therapists apply techniques such as myofascial release, manual therapy, and specific exercises to alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and restore optimal function and strength in the muscles and tendons surrounding the elbow joint.

7.7 A Comprehensive Approach

The JANMI Method takes a comprehensive approach to addressing imbalances and challenges in each of these six areas. Therapists are trained to assess and analyze the specific needs of each individual, tailoring the treatment plan accordingly. By combining hands-on techniques, therapeutic exercises, and a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of the body, the JANMI Method aims to restore balance, promote healing, and optimize overall functionality.
